H.R. Milner ExpansionMAXIM proposes to construct and operate Canada’s most efficient coal-fired power plant on the site of our 150 MW H.R. Milner Generating Station near Grande Cache, Alberta. MAXIM plans to seek approvals for a single unit, 500 megawatt (MW) expansion with an estimated capital cost of $1.4 billion. The proposed facility, referred to as the H.R. Milner Expansion ("Milner Expansion" or the "Project"), will help address Alberta’s growing power needs with cost-effective base-load electricity. The proposed Milner Expansion will be a technologically-advanced facility, using equipment and design specifications that are among the cleanest and most fuel-efficient in the world. It is anticipated that the Project would be complete and operational in the fourth quarter of 2012.
