Hartland Landfill Project, British ColumbiaThe Hartland Landfill Project is a 1.6 MW landfill gas, simple-cycle generation project in the Capital Regional District (CRD) near Victoria, BC. Finning Power Systems has a long-term contract with MAXIM to operate and maintain the plant. The power is sold to BC Hydro under a long-term Electricity Purchase Agreement (EPA). The facility is located at the CRD's Hartland landfill, adjacent to the existing flare station. Previously, methane gas was flared to control odor and minimize greenhouse gas emissions. Our facility provides a greener alternative that eliminates the need for flaring.
