John R. Bobenic

Mr. Bobenic began his career in public practice with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. A 12-year career with TransAlta Corporation followed where he held various progressively more senior positions, including President of TransAlta Energy (Chile) S.A. Following his tenure with TransAlta, Mr. Bobenic held the role of Director, Business Development, Latin America with Westcoast Energy International Inc. and the Chief Financial Officer of Enmax Corporation.  Mr. Bobenic is a Director and Chairman of the Board of a number of MAXIM affilliates.  Mr Bobenic is the Vice Chair of the Independent Power Producers Society of Alberta (IPPSA), he's a member of the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) Market Advisory Committee and he is also a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee of Dynetek Industries Ltd., a world leader in CNG (compressed natural gas) and hydrogen storage systems.  Mr. Bobenic joined MAXIM in October 2000.

Xavier Embroise

Mr. Embroise began his career in 1986 as junior engineer specializing in the development of a complete range of marine engines powered by Peugeot Citroen. A 12 year career followed where Mr. Embroise held various progressively more senior positions in this area including technical director, business manager and later general manager.  Independent of these activities, Mr. Embroise was also vice president of the French marine industries Federation and also president of French marine equipment manufacturer association. In July 1998, Mr. Embroise was O&M Director of Soffimat, an independent producer of electric and thermal energies, and owner of a significant volume of power stations. Three years later, Mr. Embroise became Business Development Manager of a subsidiary of Soffimat specializing in construction and acquisition of new power stations. Mr. Embroise joined MAXIM in October 2003 as President of Comax France in charge of business development and the Company’s French assets.

Kim Karran

Vice President, Corporate Services

Ms. Karran began her career with NOVA Gas International. She held progressively more senior positions in the business development area and worked on a number of international projects including several of NOVA’s investments in Chile and Argentina. After five years with the international group, Ms. Karran transitioned to NOVA Gas Canada (later TransCanada Midstream) where she led the evaluation of midstream opportunities. Upon leaving TransCanada Midstream, Ms. Karran joined ENMAX Corporation in a business development role, specifically on the development of independent power projects. Ms. Karran joined MAXIM in October 2000.

Michael R. Mayder

Vice President, Finance & CFO

Mr. Mayder has over twenty years of finance, accounting, and business development experience in the electrical energy and utility sectors. Mr. Mayder began his career with the City of Calgary carrying out various roles including Controller of the City's electrical department and stewardship over the City's financial information system. During the 1990's the City of Calgary incorporated its electrical department into Enmax Corporation. As part of this initiative, Mr. Mayder established the financial functions of Enmax Corporation and completed the company's initial financings. This led to progressively more senior roles within Enmax including Director of Finance, Treasurer, and Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Mayder has practiced as an independent management consultant advising businesses on finance, accounting, and regulatory matters.  Mr. Mayder joined MAXIM in October, 2007.

Jamie Urquhart

Vice President, Operations

Mr. Urquhart has 20 years of engineering, operations and business development experience in the electric power and oil and gas infrastructure sectors. Mr. Urquhart began his career with Montreal Engineering where he was seconded to TransAlta Utilities within their plant engineering and power planning departments. In 1993, Mr. Urquhart joined Engage Energy in the capacity of Manager, Power Services. In 1997, Mr. Urquhart joined Gulf Midstream Services the predecessor to Keyera Facilities Income Fund where he carried out various roles including Director, Corporate Development, Director, Business Development and ultimately Vice President, Foothills Region where he was responsible for the operational and commercial performance of Keyera's largest business unit. Prior to joining MAXIM, Mr. Urquhart held the position of Chief Operating Officer for Canadian Hydro Developers. Mr. Urquhart joined MAXIM in July, 2008.
